October exhibition - Raja, group exhibition

This month we have something a bit different in our gallery. Raja (Border) is a group exhibition with 8 artists and different mediums, but one connecting theme.

The participating artists are Maire Pyykkö, Oleg Tihonov, Natalia Montonen, Vladimir Kozin, Timo Rönkä, Raija Ilmanen, Sergei Dreiden ja Marina Koldobskaya.

Raja is an exhibition deals with communication across geographical and social borders.

For some artwork is their main source of income, for others art is a hobby, but it still takes as much of their time as their job. The artworks are made in various techniques, styles and materials, and are intended to show the conventionality and ephemerality of the boundaries that separate the artists and viewers by profession, social and geographical features, in short, by all those countless criteria and principles that set the markup of our existence.

The artworks are accompanied with brief biographies from the artists, as well as short text that clarifies the historical and cultural context.

The exhibition is organized in collaboration with LUT- university, SaimaanVIrta, Art Juna Gallery, Borey Art Center and Incrobb project.

Exhibition is open 2.-31.10.2021
Mon.-Fri.: 10 - 18
Saturday: 10 - 14

Please remember to wear a mask and keep safe distance to others while visiting us, thank you!
